CupsMitEdu is a server using the CommonUnixPrintingSystem, the native printing system on Apple and Ubuntu (in fact, Apple bought out CUPS, Inc. recently...). MIT uses LPRng, which is an older printing system, but SIPB runs a CUPS server to make it easier to print from Mac OS and Linux. To make your Mac (10.5, at least) print to cups.mit.edu, run the following commands at a Terminal: {{{ echo BrowsePoll cups.mit.edu | sudo tee -a /etc/cups/cupsd.conf sudo SystemStarter restart PrintingServices }}} You need to do this from an administrator account. Provide your login password when asked. Then, when you go to a print dialog, "Shared Printers" will pop out and list all the public cluster and dorm printers at MIT.
